“Coast to Coast via some of Australia’s most iconic landmarks”

Depart Lake Macquarie heading west over the Great Dividing Range. Stopping in Mudgee Vinyard for lunch.
After lunch head to Dubbo for fuel. Short flight to the Bogan River where you’ll be greeted to an outback experience in the town of Nyngan. We’ll be greeted with an ice cold beverage, followed by a tasty country cook up on the banks of the Bogan River.

Head west to Cobar, then off to Broken Hill “The Silver City” where we will stop for fuel and lunch. Take in the outback atmosphere of this eclectic mining town. Then off to the renowned Prarie Hotel in Parachilna.

Departing Parachilna to Leigh Creek for fuel. Fly over Lake Eyre South. Up the Birdsville track to Mungerannie Hotel for a beer, over Big Red (sand dune Simpson desert) landing in Birdsville for the night.

One of Australia’s truly unique destinations, also known as the ”oasis of the outback”
Stay | Mount Isa

Paddle up Lawn Hill Gorge in a Canoe. Spend as long as you want exploring the Gorges and waterfalls, this is truly a magnificent destination. Alternatively if the self-paddle isn’t for you then take the electric boat and sit back and relax taking in the amazing scenery of Lawn Hill Gorge.
Stay | Adels Grove air conditioned rooms or pre-erected tents.

Depart Adels Grove stopping in Burketown for fuel. Today we can try our luck at catching an elusive Barramundi.
Picturesque flight to Karumba Point. Enjoy the stunning sunset overlooking the Gulf of Carpenteria. Make sure you don’t miss the sunrise (pictured above)

Stay | End of the Road Motel

Discover Cobbold Gorge with a guided tour. This includes a walking visit to the grave of pioneer John Corbett and an overview of the geological history that has created the rugged sandstone formations. A walk to the top of the escarpment for freshwater crocodile viewing, along with a boat cruise through this unique waterway to experience the eerie silence and spectacular beauty of Cobbold Gorge.

Stay | Cobbold or Forsayth Hotel.

Board your luxury helicopter again and head to the Outback town of Georgetown for refuel and lunch followed by a tour of the gem museum.
Arriving at Undara for the night to enjoy great food and a campfire.

Stay | Your choice of cabins or Train Carriages for accommodation.

Early morning this morning with a Bush breakfast before a tour of the Lava Tubes.
Welcome to the Whitsundays! Soak up the relaxed tropical atmosphere of Airlie Beach. This evening, Farewell dinner where you can try to reflect on some of the things you have seen and done over the last 9 days.

What clothing do I need to pack?

Pack casual and comfortable clothing. The Helicopter Safaris can involve a lot of walking over uneven ground please bring comfortable closed in walking shoes. Casual light weight clothing for every day. Bring your swimmers. Pack a light weight water resistant jacket, long pants for night time (for insect protection in some areas), a long sleeved thermal top is handy for cool changes in weather. Swimwear and a sun shirt or rash shirt and hat.

Can I easily buy batteries and memory cards?

We recommend to bring extras with you, they are difficult to obtain in remote ares and are expensive.

Do I have to have a high level of fitness?

Our Helicopter Safaris are tailored to suit different people and fitness levels. If you are booking a Kimberley Helicopter Safari with us, you will be in remote areas of the country. We advise you have an average level of fitness with the ability to walk on uneven ground for some tours. Compass Helicopters include many tours throughout the Safari and it is up to the individual customer to take part in the tours or to enjoy a relaxing few hours. You must advise us at the time of booking of any disability, medical condition or dietary requirements. Please note we will endeavour to cater to your needs but there will be some tours you may not be able to participate in for your health and safety or the health and safety of others on the tour.

Will it cost more to travel on my own?

Yes a single supplement applies, however if there is another customer prepared to twin share you could choose to share.
